About Me...

And just who the heck do I think I am...

It's me... Evil Pixie
Well, the answer to that question is quite simple:  Evil Pixie.  Writing a mini autobiography is such a pain, isn’t it? I never know what to write, so I will just blurt a few things out…

I live in the Pacific Northwest, but I eventally want to move the Pixie Household to England.  I love the color orange, hate reality TV, and believe wearing grown-up clothes is over-rated (much prefer jeans, t-shirts, and flip flops). I do not like hot beverages, cannot stand the smell of coffee (I know! Shocking for someone who lives in the PNW - the land of Starbucks!), and avoid caffeine.  I think better when I aimlessly drive around in the Trusty Steed.  I fall asleep more easily when music is playing.  I'm in search for the perfect pillow.

My I.Q. is 163, my MBT II is INTJ, and I believe humor is far sexier than toned abs.  I like to laugh out loud (from deep within), sing off-key, and jump in mud puddles.  I don't like to wear socks (they make me feel claustrophobic), eat red meat, or exercise for the sake of exercise.  I like flowers, flannel pajamas, and Simply Lemonade.  I don't like make up (never wear it), spiders, or passive aggressiveness.

I have several university degrees, but I am also a university drop out.  I dropped out of university while working on my doctorate.  I am what they call ABD (all but dissertation).  People think I am nuts for dropping out when I am so close to finishing but when I already have a mortgage in student loans and tuition increases happen in double digit increments, a Pixie has to do what a Pixie has to do – especially when this Pixie can no longer afford those double digit increases.  Interestingly, I am not really broken up about it.

When I was 10 years old, I wanted to be a writer and photographer.  I still want to be a writer and photographer.  One day, my profession will be a writer and photographer.  In the meantime, I own two businesses:  a management consulting company and a photography company (unfortunately, the photography biz is still part-time).  I also do adjunct work at a few online universities.  That said, I've had several careers in my lifetime (so far):  journalist, public relations, graphic design, human resources manager, college/university instructor, consultant, and photographer.  Yes, I get bored easily.

The Pixie Household...

The Pixie Household includes my mum, Naughty Pixie and my younger sister, Wicked Pixie.  Naughty Pixie recently took early retirement from her work in nursing to care full-time for Wicked Pixie, who has developmental disabilities and severe, chronic health problems.  Except for a short time when I moved away from home to go to Uni, it has always been Naughty Pixie and I sharing care-taking responsibilities.  The way we look at it, we're more than just a family - we're a team.

Naughty Pixie and Wicked Pixie are my best friends.  They keep me grounded, give me focus, humor my inner prima donna, and tolerate my fickleness.

As part of the Pixie Household, there is the Trusty Steed and Mini Steed.  The Trusty Steed is my truck, while the Mini Steed is my car.  We typically have most of our adventures in the Trusty Steed, but we have the Mini Steed around for those adult moments when I have to put on my grown-up clothes and be Ms. Consultant.  Apparently, the Mini Steed makes me look more professional than my beautiful truck.

The Pixie Household likes to travel, take lots of photographs, and try new things.  Maybe that is why we have the itch to pick up and move house overseas - exploring the nooks and crannies of Europe and wherever else that catches our fancy.  And, right now, we're working toward that goal.
