Playing In The Snow

Yesterday the Pixie Household headed up to the mountain so I could play in the snow and take plenty of photographs.  I didn't do much playing in the snow simply because the snowboarders were hogging all the snow (they have a tendency to do that... at least the snowboarders at the mountain I was on), but I did get the opportunity to feel the cool rush of snow falling on my head (then down the back of my shirt) when the trees above decided to drop snow all over me (more than once).  I'm not complaining... I had too much fun to complain.

Here are a few snaps from our adventures in white...

I love how I can see the snow blowing off the peak of Mt. Shuksan.  It looked even better against that amazing blue skies.

Icicles were everywhere.  Some of the long, pointed beasties were as tall as I am, while other sort of curved themselves into the rocks.

I love how the big evergreens look like they've been dipped in powdered sugar.

There were all sorts of these make-shift waterfalls because of the melting snow.  You couldn't always see them, but you could definitely hear them as you trudged through the snow.

We had such fun up on the mountain yesterday that the Pixie Household talked about returning sooner rather than later.  There were plenty of photographs I wanted to get, but wasn't able to due to time, weather, and annoying snowboarders who insisted on getting in my shots.  With a little careful planning, I'm sure I can get those photographs I missed.  Plus, its another excuse to go play in the snow.

  4. @Lisa-Marie... We did have a lot of fun. I cannot wait until we head back up there again, but we'll have to do it quickly because the snow is melting pretty fast.
